Concordia Seminary Students Receive Calls and Vicarages

On Wednesday, October 28, three students received calls into the pastoral ministry and two students received vicarage assignments during a worship service in the Chapel of St. Timothy and St. Titus at Concordia Seminary, St. Louis.

The calls received were:
Scott Allen Ashmon to Christ Lutheran Church (Assistant), Cincinnati, OH (Ohio District)
John Michael Barich to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Seattle, WA (Northwest District)
Leroy R. Peterson, III to Grace Lutheran Church (Associate), Menomonee Falls, WI (South Wisconsin District).

The vicarages assigned were:
Garrett Knudson to Redeemer Lutheran Church, Redwood City, CA (California-Nevada-Hawaii District)
Eric Ruble to Immanuel Lutheran Church, Twin Falls, Idaho (Northwest District)

It was also noted that Seminarian Martin Springer will be assigned a vicarage in the Southern Illinois District in the near future, the exact location still to be determined.

“We rejoice with these men and their families, as well as the congregations which will be served by them in the future,” commented Rev. Glen Thomas, Vice President for Seminary Relations at Concordia. “We join the Church in giving thanks for these men who are the answers to the prayers of so many that God would continue to raise up workers for His harvest field.”

These candidates and vicars, assigned during the Seminary’s fall quarter, join the 99 candidates and 115 vicars who received their calls and vicarages in April, during the Seminary’s spring quarter.
