Concordia Seminary Recognizes Ordination/Commissioning Anniversaries

Concordia Seminary, St. Louis, recognized significant ordination anniversaries and commissioning dates of 13 faculty and emeriti at the end of chapel service on Nov. 12. Each was recognized individually and prayers of thanksgiving were offered for their service. A reception was held following the chapel service to allow individuals in the Seminary community the opportunity to express their gratitude.

The following Concordia Seminary faculty members were recognized:

David Berger (commissioning) 45 years
William Carr 25 years
Jeffrey Kloha 15 years
David Lewis 10 years
David Maxwell 5 years
Jeffrey Oschwald 20 years
David Peter 20 years
Leopoldo Sánchez M. 5 years
Quentin Wesselschmidt 45 years
Ronald Feuerhahn (emeritus) 45 years
Horace Hummel (emeritus) 55 years
Charles Knippel (emeritus) 55 years
Francis Rossow (emeritus) 60 years

“The years of faithful service to our Lord and His people given by these 13 men gives strong testimony to the faithfulness of our good and gracious God, who always bestows upon His church gifts to carry out His work (Eph. 4:8, 11),” commented Dr. James Voelz, Dean of the Faculty at Concordia Seminary. “Together, they have given over 400 years of service in many lands, in many languages, and in many stations and positions, and we at Concordia Seminary are glad and proud to call them our brothers in Christ.”
