Seminary choir Laudamus announces spring tour

Stops planned in Georgia, Florida, Alabama, Missouri and Illinois

The Laudamus men’s choir from Concordia Seminary, St. Louis will begin its spring tour in February and make nine stops in five states in late February through mid-April.

Laudamus is a select choir of 14 seminarians preparing for full-time service as pastors in The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod (LCMS). Under the direction of Jim Marriott, the Seminary’s director of musical arts, the choir delights in proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ through music.

“Music is a precious gift from God,” Marriott said. “It is an honor and privilege for us to share the Gospel message through the beauty of music. We pray that the Holy Spirit uses our performances to strengthen faith and encourage us all in our discipleship of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, as we witness God’s love to the world.”

The group will sing for worship services and special concerts at LCMS churches beginning Feb. 21. The choir will sing an eclectic program representing the church’s song from many different genres. Composers include Bruckner, Christiansen, Fauré, Hogan and more.

At each Florida and Georgia concert location, a Seminary recruiter will be available to talk with prospective students and anyone interested in church work opportunities, provide information on the admissions process and answer questions about Concordia Seminary.
