| Continuing Education Events | Concordia Seminary serves Church and world by offering continuing education experiences for clergy, other professional church workers, and lay persons. Such offerings are intended to:
- Provide instruction and experiences to equip persons for service in specialized fields;
- Offer additional formation in theology;
- Provide opportunity for advanced theological study and research.
Concordia Seminary offers Continuing Education Units (CEU) for educational experiences other than the academic courses and programs. One CEU is equivalent to ten contact hours in a learning experience.

January 23, 2010 (Saturday) – Schola Cantorum: An Adult Member Workshop (for Choir Members and Directors) Free Choral Reading on Friday evening, January 22. Clinician: Dr. Christopher Aspaas, St. Olaf College
January 30, 2010 (Saturday) – Making Abortion Unthinkable: Presenter: Jeff Gibbs, Professor of Exegetical Theology, Concordia Seminary. Using video-based presentations as well as discussion segments, Dr. Gibbs will explore the question of abortion with regard to clear, focused apologetics and human reason at its best. The workshop will strengthen and clarify understanding for those who attend, as well as equip them to speak winsomely, even to non-Christians, on behalf of the unborn.
February 1-2, 2010 (Monday-Tuesday) – 2nd Multi Ethnic Symposium “Conversations of Hope” (In conjunction with numerous agencies of Synod): This multi-ethnic symposium is designed for participants to hear and share the various conversations of the theological, sociological and economic hopes that are within the under-represented communities of the LCMS.
February 13, 2010 (Saturday) – 2nd Annual Reaching Out Together Evangelism Workshop
March 13, 2010 (Saturday) - Prepare-Enrich Workshop and Training: Instructor: Rev. Jeffery Schubert. This workshop is designed to help facilitators learn how to use the Prepare/Enrich program with premarital and married couples. Prepare/Enrich is a program based on a set of five inventories that examine major relationship issues a couple may experience. These inventories must be administered by a trained Prepare/Enrich counselor and includes 4-6 feedback sessions in which the counselor facilitates discussion between the couple based on the inventory results. Materials you receive at the workshop include Comprehensive Counselor Manual, five Inventories for premarital and married couples at all stages of life, and a Building a Strong Marriage Workbook.

May 5, 2010 (Wednesday) – Day of Homiletical Reflection
May 24-28, 2010 (Monday-Friday) – Christian Law Enforcement Chaplaincy Theology and Practice: Unique accredited training for chaplains, peace officers, and pastors, focusing on effective Christian ministry to and through law enforcement, to include: adopting a sound biblical theology, understanding LE as vocation (God's calling), distinguishing and properly applying law and Gospel and God's Two Kingdoms within a LE context, addressing practical, legal, historical, cultural and missiological considerations, employing Christian stress management and officer spiritual survival strategies, and identifying characteristics of a competent Christian chaplain.
