The Preachers baseball team, composed of Concordia Seminary students, plays in the recreation CYC (Catholic Youth Council) league throughout the summer at the baseball fields in Forest Park (which can be seen from 64/40). The season generally runs from June to August. Plan on a good time when you come out to watch your Concordia Preachers play America's great pastime—BASEBALL!

Cross Country

The Preachers are set to burn up the trails in the 2009 season on the heels of their successful inaugural campaign. Check back for updates on scheduled meets for this Fall.  10/9 - Three runners represented the Seminary cross-country team at Principia College's "Cowbell Classic." Paul Muther, Dave Herald, and Patrick Gumz navigated the course in contrary conditions, posting respectable times and having fun in the process. "It was tough to find footing in the treacherous turns," said Muther, the team coordinator. "But the Preachers ran the course and finished in time for the celebratory Cowbell Classic post-race pie." Herald finished the 5k race in 23:20, Muther in 24:28, and Gumz in 35:13.

Soccer

The club soccer season begins in the Fall, but practices and games take place on the Seminary campus year-round.
9/18 - The season kicked off with a scrimmage against rival Covenant Seminary, with the teams playing to a 0-0 draw. The Preachers will face Covenant twice this season, including the Witteneva Cup on October 16th. Don't miss it!
9/25 - Your Concordia Seminary soccer team blanked Pharmacy on Friday, 4-0. Jason Duley and Josh Cromley combined for the shutout in goal, while Kristoffer Norbye, JJ Stefanic, Alexandre Vieira, and Luke Kammrath each scored for the Preachers.
9/29 - Pharmacy, apparently daunted after Friday's game, failed to show for Tuesday's game. The Preachers mark it up as a victory by forfeit, moving to 2-0 this season.
10/2 - Your seminary soccer team fought to a tie against a tough Logan squad on Friday, 2-2. Alexandre Vieira and J.J. Stefanic each scored for the Preachers, who are now 2-0-1 on the season. Player/coach Stefanic said it was "the best we played all year."
