| Married Student Housing |
The Seminary owns apartment units for married students. Each apartment has a stove and refrigerator but is otherwise unfurnished. Each unit has a small storage area assigned to that unit. Some buildings have laundry hookups in the basement. All the apartments offer comfortable and convenient accom-modations for a married couple, and many are sufficiently large to be adequate for up to three children. Pets are not permitted in Seminary-owned apartments. The demand is high each year for the available Seminary-owned apartments. Rental rates are competitive with the local market.
Married student housing applications should be sent to the Campus Services Office and postmarked by March 31 of the current year.
Application Process
Applications for Seminary-owned married student housing are available upon request from Campus Services and in the column to the right. Students are encouraged to apply early for consideration of their specific housing needs. Assignments to Seminary-owned apartments are made on a priority basis, taking into account the student's year, family size, and other extenuating circumstances.
Who takes care of the property?
The Seminary maintenance staff or its agents are responsible for making all repairs and necessary improvements. For the sake of preserving the Seminary's property, prompt requests for repairs or maintenance on any housing and timely suggestions for improvement should be submitted directly to Unicco Maintenance via the online “Unicco Work Request” link on the student portal. In emergency situations residents should immediately call Maintenance, Campus Services, or Seminary Security.” Seminary personnel will conduct visual inspections of the apartments occasionally to note their general condition and to check for health, fire and safety hazards. The apartments are redecorated on a periodic basis. Tenants should secure a renters' insurance policy upon taking up residence
Off-Campus Housing
The communities surrounding Concordia Seminary contain a number of privately-owned apartment units to meet a wide range of needs and preferences. The Life Transitions Coordinator maintains a referral service listing information about apartments frequently rented by students and about other private housing facilities as they are available.
