The Counseling Center has offered free, confidential assistance to the Seminary community since 1987. Directors are state licensed and nationally certified Professional Counselors. Sound clinical and practical resources are provided for those who want to focus on equipping themselves for healthful living and relationships or for those who are experiencing difficulties and would like to work towards healing. Health & Wellness Center 

Concordia Seminary’s Health and Wellness Center is committed to creating an atmosphere of wellness by promoting physical, emotional and spiritual health. It is located in the Seminary’s Pederson Fieldhouse and is maintained for the campus community under the supervision of the director of student services and the Seminary physician.
A parish nurse and student workers staff the Health and Wellness Center. A physician will hold clinic hours every Tuesday afternoon. Students, faculty and staff may see the doctor free of charge. The Health and Wellness Center stocks some medications, both prescription and over the counter, which are given out free of charge.

Students, families and staff are invited to participate in all activities sponsored by the Health and Wellness Center. The parish nurse can provide health education and counseling, as well as referrals within the medical community. 

Health Insurance

All full-time students and vicars are required to carry health insurance and are automatically enrolled in the Seminary’s health plan unless granted a waiver. New students must obtain insurance waivers through the Health and Wellness Center. All other students must waive online through the Seminary’s Portal site August 1 to August 15, 2008. Dependent enrollment is arranged directly with the insurance company. Dependent forms are available on Portal site and in the Health and Wellness Center.

Food Bank

The Food Bank provides the tremendous blessing of free, non-perishable foods and household items to all students and their families. It is located on the northwest corner of the basement level of Loeber Hall (enter through the west entrance). 

Students shop monthly or bimonthly for groceries free of charge. A point system is utilized (according to size of family) to determine how much each family may receive each month. 

The Food Bank allows students and their families the opportunity to stretch their resources beyond any expectations they might have had prior to Seminary enrollment.

Hours of Operation Shopping Hours Tues. 3-6 p.m. Sat. 10-12:30 p.m. Volunteer Hours Wed. 10 & 2 a.m.  Hours subject to change during holidays and breaks. Notice: Bread and produce is available at the Food Bank beginning at 10am on Saturday mornings.

Re-Sell It Shop

The Re-Sell It Shop is an on-campus store where students and their families may shop at greatly reduced prices.

Located in the basement of Wyneken Hall, this service offers many excellent quality, used and some new, items. 

Adult and children's clothing, linens, small appliances, furniture, toys/games and other items are offered for a nominal charge.

Volunteers: The Re-Sell It Shop would like to show their appreciation by paying volunteers $2 in volunteer bucks, plus 1 free item for every hour worked. Thank you!
