Rev. Todd Jones graduated from St. John’s College in Winfield, Kan., in 1985 before getting his M.Div. from Concordia Seminary in 1989. After graduation from Concordia Seminary, Rev. Jones was installed as the Associate Pastor of Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Milbank, S. D., where he continued in that role until 1993. From 1993 to 2009 he was the Senior Pastor at Faith Lutheran Church in Benton, Ark., where, in addition to his pastoral responsibilities at his congregation, he was also the lead pastor for three mission starts in the surrounding area between 2007 and 2008.
Rev. Jones has consistently been in mission work whether it has been in the frontlines of church planting, or in the background assisting with training and coaching. He was the assistant to the president for Congregational Health and Outreach for the Mid-South District from 2009-2013 where he helped congregations to increase worship attendance and helped leaders through training, coaching, and resource development. Since 2002 he has been training and coaching indigenous church planters around the world and still serves as a coach to over 40 pastors who are in the midst of revitalizing their churches across eight districts.
Rev. Jones has been doing presentations for districts and various conferences since 2006 and has focused much of his attention on children’s ministry (revitalizing children’s ministry and building gaps between school and church) and systematic approaches to ministry health. He has been published as a contributing author to books about congregational transformation, and continues to contribute to the Mid-South District’s monthly newsletter.
