Rev. Jeffrey Kloha Accepts Call to Concordia Seminary Faculty

Rev. Jeffrey Kloha, associate pastor of Gethsemane Lutheran Church in Lakewood, Ohio has accepted the call issued him by Concordia Seminary, St. Louis, to serve as assistant professor of exegetical theology.

Rev. Kloha received his bachelor of arts degree from Concordia College, Ann Arbor, Mich., in 1988. He received his master of divinity and master of sacred theology degrees from Concordia Seminary, St. Louis, in 1992 and 1998 respectively. He has served as associate pastor of Gethsemane Lutheran Church since 1993.

Rev. Kloha’s areas of academic interest include New Testament textual criticism, Greek language and linguistics and biblical interpretation.

While at Concordia Seminary as a student, Kloha was co-editor (with Dr. Ronald Feuerhahn of the Seminary faculty) of “Scripture and the Church: Selected Essays of Herman Sasse” (Concordia Monograph Series, no. 2, Concordia Seminary, St. Louis, 1995). He also assisted Dr. James Voelz in the preparation of “Fundamental Greek Grammar” (St. Louis: Concordia Publishing House, 1993) and “What Does This Mean?” (St. Louis: Concordia Publishing House, 1995) while serving as a graduate research assistant.

Rev. Kloha’s experience in the pastoral ministry includes serving as worship and devotional leader for the Ohio District Junior High Youth Gatherings in 1994 and 1998. He also served as Bible study leader for the Ohio District Junior High Youth Gatherings in 1995 and 1996.

“We are thankful to God for leading Pastor Kloha to accept this call to our faculty,” stated Dr. John F. Johnson, President of Concordia Seminary. “He is an outstanding young theologian and biblical scholar but, of equal importance, he possesses a significant record of effective pastoral experience and is dedicated to the formation of future pastors as well.”

Rev. Kloha, his wife Susan and their two children plan to move to St. Louis in July. He will begin his teaching responsibilities this fall.
