Theological Symposium Audio Files Available

Audio files from the 14th Annual Theological Symposium, held Sept. 23-24 at Concordia Seminary, St. Louis are available on the Seminary’s Web site (www.csl.edu/symposium2003audio.htm [1]). The audio files contain the Symposium’s plenary presentations and are available in RealAudioRg format. They may be downloaded at no charge or heard online.

The Symposium was titled, “Identifying Authorities: The Limits of Theological Diversity and Confessional Unity.” It analyzed the growing theological diversity in The Lutheran Church – Missouri Synod (LCMS), including the impact of current agreements and disagreements. It also presented concrete proposals for change.

“We are pleased to provide these audio files free of charge to the church and we commend their use,” commented Rev. Glen Thomas, Concordia Seminary’s vice president for seminary relations. They would provide great content for study and discussion at circuit pastors’ meetings or for individual pastors to contemplate in conjunction with their private reading and study.”

Dr. Glenn Nielsen, associate professor of practical theology and director of vicarage at Concordia Seminary, St. Louis, Mo. – “Reaching Out to American
Evangelicalism”

Dr. Ken R. Schurb, pastor of Zion Lutheran Church, Moberly, Mo. – “Reaching In to Historical Missouri Synod”

The Fifteenth Annual Theological Symposium is scheduled to take place Tuesday and Wednesday, Sept. 21-22, 2004.
