Concordia Seminary To Celebrate Black History Month

Concordia Seminary, St. Louis, will celebrate Black History Month with a series of special events. Morning chapel services between Jan. 17 and Feb. 2 will feature songs and hymns from the African-American tradition. The Seminary Library will display a collection of archival photographs and documents highlighting the 60-year existence and experience of Immanuel Lutheran College in North Carolina, especially as a training institution for African-American pastors in the Synodical Conference (including the LCMS).

Concordia Historical Institute (CHI), located on the Seminary campus, will honor the involvement of the Missouri Synod in African-American ministry by a special display from Jan. 17 to Feb. 18. The Institute’s hours are Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m.

On Sunday, Jan. 30, at 3:00 p.m., African-American congregations and pastors from the St. Louis area will host a worship service in The Chapel of St. Timothy and St. Titus on the Seminary campus.
