Herrmann Accepts Call to Concordia Seminary

Concordia Seminary welcomes Dr. Erik H. Herrmann who has accepted a call to serve as instructor in historical theology. Previously, Herrmann served as guest instructor at Concordia Seminary, St. Louis, and as assistant pastor of Timothy Lutheran Church, St. Louis.

Herrmann received a B.A. from Concordia University, Wis., in 1995, and M.Div. and Ph.D. degrees from Concordia Seminary, St. Louis, in 2000 and 2005, respectively. He began his new position July 1. Herrmann and his wife, Aliesha, have three children.

Herrmann commented, “It is always a joyous privilege to serve God and His people. I am deeply honored to have been called into such ministry at Concordia Seminary. Working with the faculty, staff and students will be a special joy for me.”

The addition of Herrmann brings the number of full-time faculty members at Concordia Seminary, St. Louis, to 45. The Seminary has experienced an enrollment increase of 52 percent over the past five years, surpassing 800 students during each of the past two academic years. While some of this increase is due to the addition of new distance education programs, the residential population of students has also increased 32 percent over the past five years. This enrollment surge has necessitated the calling of additional faculty.
