Egger Accepts Call to Concordia Seminary

Concordia Seminary, St. Louis, announces that Thomas J. Egger has accepted the call to serve as a member of the Seminary faculty. Egger began his new position as assistant professor in exegetical theology on July 1. He previously served as pastor of Zion Lutheran Church, Storm Lake, Iowa.

Egger received a B.A. degree from Central College, Pella, Iowa, in 1993, and an M.Div. degree from Concordia Seminary, St. Louis, in 1997. He also has served as teaching assistant in biblical readings and Old Testament isagogics at Concordia Seminary, St. Louis. Egger is currently a doctoral student in biblical studies at Concordia Seminary, St. Louis. He and his wife, Victoria, have four children.
The addition of Egger brings the number of full-time faculty members at Concordia Seminary, St. Louis, to 45. The Seminary has experienced an enrollment increase of 52 percent over the past five years, surpassing 800 students during each of the past two academic years. While some of this increase is due to the addition of new distance education programs, the residential population of students has also increased 32 percent over the past five years. This enrollment surge has necessitated the calling of additional faculty.
