Laudamus men’s choir to perform in St. Louis March 12

The Laudamus [1] men’s choir from Concordia Seminary, St. Loui [2]s will perform its final concert of the 2017 spring tour at 3 p.m. Sunday, March 12, at Peace Lutheran Church in St. Louis, Mo.

The concert is free and open to the public.

Laudamus is a select choir of seminarians preparing for full-time service as pastors in The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod (LCMS) [3]. Under the direction of James Marriott, the Seminary’s director of musical arts, the choir delights in proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ through music.

“One of my highlights each week is the opportunity to make music with the dedicated members of Laudamus,” Marriott said. “The joy and passion they bring to the musical proclamation of the Gospel is refreshing and energizing.”

The program is eclectic, representing the church’s song from many different genres. This year’s tour program includes selections from composers such as Brahms, Faure, Hogan, Poulenc, Josquin Des Pres, David von Kampen and more.

This concert follows a five-day traveling tour of the LCMS Rocky Mountain District [4], with stops in Nebraska, Colorado and New Mexico. The choir performed at church services and special concerts as part of the district’s Reformation500 [5] celebration.
