Giving Tuesday campaign raises record $66,320

Thanks to 245 generous donors, Concordia Seminary, St. Louis raised a record $66,320 on Giving Tuesday, Dec. 1 [1], surpassing its goal by $6,320.

The Seminary set a goal of raising $60,000, which included a matching gift from a generous donor. Donations were matched dollar for dollar up to the first $30,000. The raised funds on Giving Tuesday will be used where needed most in support of the Seminary’s mission to prepare the church’s future pastors, deaconesses, missionaries and teachers.

“We praise God for the awesome friends and supporters He has put in our path, and we offer heartfelt thanks to each and every person who contributed to our Giving Tuesday campaign,” said Vicki Biggs, senior vice president for Seminary Advancement. “I offer these thanks on behalf of our students, who are the direct beneficiaries of your generosity. Thank you for making a difference for each one of our future pastors and deaconesses.”

The Seminary’s Giving Tuesday campaign encouraged students, faculty, staff and donors to use the hashtags #PrepareAPastor, #PrepareADeaconess and #GivingTuesday on social media to help spread the word about the campaign and to share their Seminary stories. Because safety precautions in light of the pandemic kept members of the campus community from gathering together on campus on the day of giving itself, they were encouraged to wear their Giving Tuesday T-shirts wherever they were to encourage the support of friends, family members and colleagues.
