Lay Bible Institute set for Feb. 11

Gain new perspectives on traditional Lutheran teachings at Concordia Seminary, St. Louis’ winter Lay Bible Institute [1], “Lutherans Listening to C.S. Lewis,” led by Professor of Historical Theology Dr. Erik Herrmann [2].

This workshop will look at the thought and writings of C.S. Lewis, especially as they intersect with themes important for Lutherans, such as theology of the cross, faith, science and reason, and the role of beauty for belief and ethics.

Open to anyone interested in the study of Scripture and proclamation of the Gospel, the workshop will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 11, 2023, in Sieck Hall 202 on campus, 801 Seminary Place, St. Louis, MO 63105. The registration deadline is Jan. 23, 2023. The fee is $20 per person, $35 with lunch.

The Lay Bible Institute, offered three times a year and led by Concordia Seminary faculty members, is an ongoing study of the Bible and how it relates to today’s life and events.
