Third annual Prevallet Hymn Writing Workshop set for Feb. 17

Registration is open for the third annual Prevallet Hymn Writing Workshop [1], set for Saturday, Feb. 17, on the campus of Concordia Seminary, St. Louis. Aspiring and published hymn writers and translators, and Concordia Seminary students, are encouraged to attend. Coaching with the presenters and other local hymn writers for those interested will be available in the afternoon.

The registration fee is $15, and includes a copy of The Anatomy of Hymnody by Austin C. Lovelace, which will be given to each participant at the event. Note: Registration is free for Concordia Seminary students and spouses. The deadline to register [2] is Feb 13.

This year’s presenters include:

“The Lord has more gifts to give His church through the songs and hymns yet to be born,” Vieker said. “This workshop is an excellent opportunity for hymn writers and hymn lovers in general to learn about the art of hymn writing.”

The workshop will be held in the lower level of the Chapel of St. Timothy and St. Titus, 801 Seminary Place, St. Louis, MO 63105.
