Statement regarding Rev. Michael Mohr

Concordia Seminary’s Board of Regents and the Seminary’s senior leadership team are aware of the arrest this week of Rev. Michael Mohr. The allegations are serious. Concordia Seminary, St. Louis, as an institution of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod, adheres to the doctrine and practices of our church body, and we are expected to lead lives that are consistent with the Holy Scriptures, love and protect our neighbor, and bring honor to the Lord who has redeemed us. We do not condone any form of sexual misconduct, and we will cooperate fully with a lawful investigation into the charges.

Rev. Mohr was appointed to the Seminary’s Board of Regents in September 2024. His service on the board has been suspended in the face of these charges.

Dr. Matthew C. Harrison, president of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod, has issued a letter [1] with more information and which offers encouragement at this difficult time. This is deeply painful for all those involved, and we ask for prayers for all those affected by this matter.
