The Associated Church Press [1] (ACP) and the Evangelical Press Association [2] (EPA) recently recognized Concordia Seminary, St. Louis with top awards for excellence in writing, design, video and digital content.

The awards reflect the day-to-day outstanding effort of our talented communications professionals as we strive to joyfully champion the Seminary’s mission and inspire partnership in our work of forming the church’s future pastors and deaconesses.”
ACP awards
The ACP is the nation’s oldest interdenominational religious press association. It presented its award in May in Toronto.
ACP awards in the “Overall Excellence/Best in Class” contest:
- The Seminary received first place in the “Best in Class – Public Relations or Marketing Campaign” category for the 2025 Concordia Seminary Give Green and Gold Day campaign. Named in the award: Vicki Biggs, chief communications officer; Ken Ohlemeyer, executive director of communications; Beth Hasek, creative director; and Ana Mueller, designer.
- The Seminary received second place in the “Seminary Publication or Journal” category for Concordia Seminary Magazine. [3] Named in the award: Vicki Biggs, executive editor; Ken Ohlemeyer, managing editor; Beth Hasek, art director; and Courtney Koll, designer.
ACP award in the “Reporting and Writing” contest:
- The Seminary received third place in the “Biblical Interpretation or Lectionary Reflection – short format (1,200 words or less)” category for “Behold I am doing a new thing! [4]” Named in the award: Kevin Golden, writer; Vicki Biggs, executive editor; Ken Ohlemeyer, managing editor; Beth Hasek, art director; and Courtney Koll, designer.
ACP award in the “Visual Communications” contest:
- The Seminary received third place in the “Photo Spread or Essay – Printed (Newspaper, Magazine, Newsletter or Journal)” category for “Celebrating 75 years of memories at the Pederson Field House.” Named in the award: Vicki Biggs, chief communications officer; Ken Ohlemeyer, executive director of communications; Beth Hasek, creative director; and Courtney Koll, designer.
EPA awards
The EPA is a professional organization of Christian print and digital publications. It announced its awards in May in Nashville, Tennessee.
EPA “Awards of Excellence” contest:
- The Seminary received an Award of Excellence in the “Higher Ed (Digital)” category for Concordia Seminary Magazine [3]. Named in the award: Vicki Biggs, Ken Ohlemeyer, Beth Hasek and Chris Miller.
- The Seminary received an Award of Merit in the “Higher Ed (Print)” category for Concordia Seminary Magazine [3]. Named in the award: Vicki Biggs, Ken Ohlemeyer, Beth Hasek and Courtney Kroll.
EPA awards in the “Higher Goals” contest:
- For “Blog: Website,” the Seminary received fifth place for concordiatheology.org [5]. Named in the award are Kevin Golden, Vicki Biggs, Ken Ohlemeyer, Beth Hasek and Chris Miller.
- For “Feature Article,” the Seminary received fifth place for “Behold I am doing a new thing! [4]” Named in the award are Courtney Koll and Kevin Golden.
- For “Short Form Video,” the Seminary received fourth place for “2025 Christmas Greeting from Concordia Seminary.” Named in the award are Ken Ohlemeyer and Lifetime Media.
- For “Typography and Lettering,” the Seminary received second place for “Behold I am doing a new thing! [4]” Named in the award is Courtney Koll.
- For “Social Media Short Video,” the Seminary received third place for “Give Green and Gold Day.” Named in the award are Ken Ohlemeyer and Lifetime Media.
