SUMMARY:Dr. Jack Dean Kingsbury Lecture in New Testament Theology
DESCRIPTION:Join Dr. James W. Voelz\, the Dr. Jack Dean Kingsbury Professor of New Testament Theology\, Concordia Seminary\, St. Louis\, for the seventh annual Dr. Jack Dean Kingsbury Lecture in New Testament Theology. \nDoing Biblical Interpretation the Concordia St. Louis Way\nConcordia Seminary\, St. Louis\, is a confessional Lutheran Seminary whose exegetes practice a conservative method of biblical interpretation that is both textual and historical\, often called the historical-grammatical method. But there are various versions or iterations of this method\, i.e.\, various points of emphasis or various elements of focus. Concordia Seminary exegetes have a specific approach to biblical interpretation\, their own version of the historical-grammatical method\, as it were\, especially in the last 40-50 years. This lecture will take a close look at the features of this “St. Louis Seminary” approach.
