Festivities may be canceled due to Covid-19, but that didn’t stop faculty, staff and friends from honoring – and completely surprising – President Emeritus Dr. Dale A. Meyer. In recognition of his contributions to the church and his recent retirement from service as Concordia Seminary’s 10th president, a festschrift, or honorary volume of essays titled Let the Gospel Lead: Essays & Sermons in Honor of Dale A. Meyer, was presented virtually to Meyer July 2 via Adobe Connect.

This morning was a busy one for our retiring presi

This morning was a busy one for our retiring president and first lady! As the trucks were being loaded for their move, Dr. and Mrs. Meyer were surprised with cards and gifts that included locally handmade Adirondack chairs and a table, a framed print of the new chancel window in the Chapel of St. Timothy and St. Titus, and more than 1,000 personalized notes from friends of the Seminary who expressed their love and thankfulness for the Meyers’ many years of service. Dr. Meyer officially retires June 30.
