A native of the Netherlands, Roy Kroezen moved to the United States in 2016 to accept the position of full-time carillonneur in Centralia, Ill. His carillon training in Belgium and the Netherlands culminated into a master’s degree in carillon performance from the University of the Arts, Utrecht, the Netherlands. He was carillonneur for four cities in the Netherlands. Kroezen has played carillon concerts throughout Europe, North America and Japan. He has won prizes at several international carillon competitions. In addition to his carillon work, he is also organist for Trinity Episcopal Church in Mount Vernon, Ill., as well as The Fabulous Fox Theater in St. Louis

The carillon at Concordia Seminary is one of only 170 such instruments in North America. The 49 bells have been played atop Luther Tower since 1971, and are dedicated to all pastors who have served The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod (LCMS). It is housed in Luther Tower, the 120-foot structure designed by architect Charles Kauder and dedicated in 1966.

Note: While enjoying the concert on the Seminary grounds, we encourage you to observe safe physical distancing from others.
