Four Leadership Approaches online Continuing Education course
For the second year, Concordia Seminary, St. Louis is partnering with Concordia University Wisconsin, Mequon (CUW), to offer the online continuing education course, “Four Leadership Approaches Every Leader Should Know and Use.”
The course is available for ordained pastors, commissioned church workers and lay leaders.
The course runs Tuesday, Sept. 14 through Oct. 26, 2021. (The course will not meet Sept. 21 during the Seminary’s annual Theological Symposium.)
Using a combination of practical and theological experience, the presenters will aim to help participants better lead those to whom they are called to serve.
The course will be taught by Dr. Benjamin Haupt, associate provost and associate professor of Practical Theology at Concordia Seminary, St. Louis; Dr. Luke Schnake, pastor emeritus of Christ Lincoln Lutheran Church, Lincoln, Neb.; and Dr. Ryan Peterson, vice president of administration at Concordia University, Ann Arbor, Mich.
- Session 1 – Introduction to the Four Frames & Leadership Assessment
- Session 2 – Leading through the Human Resources Frame
- Session 3 – Leading through the Symbolic Frame
- Session 4 – Leading through the Structural Frame
- Session 5 – Leading through the Political Frame
- Session 6 – The Power of Reframing for the Next Season of Leadership
The course is fully online and features six modules over six weeks, with video lectures, optional readings, recommended assignments and peer discussion activities to enhance the learning experience. Each class will begin with a live Zoom discussion with the presenters and students. Each session will be recorded so students can view it later if they are unable to attend.
The course costs $99, which includes one Continuing Education Unit (CEU) credits per course for pastors. Registration closes Sept. 10, 2021. To register, complete CUW’s online application.
