Today is the last day of Winterim term, so we’re

Today is the last day of Winterim term, so we’re saying “see you later” to our Reduced Residency Advanced Studies and General Pastor Certification students who were on campus for intensive classes. Chapel this morning included a sending rite for these students and for faculty who will be traveling during the next week. Safe travels, everyone, and we’re looking forward to welcoming the rest of our residential students back when the spring semester begins Jan. 27!

Yesterday, Seminary student Sergio Vargas participated in a baptismal service that welcomed ten people into his vicarage congregation, @franklinavemission in Flint, Mich. He is pictured here anointing a newly-baptized boy with oil during the service. Sergio is a student in the Seminary’s Center for Hispanic Studies (CHS), which prepares pastors and deaconesses to serve in Lutheran Hispanic/Latino communities in the U.S. To learn more about the CHS program, visit csl.edu/chs.
