The Anabaptists and Radical Reformations in the Reformation

Focusing on various figures, this workshop will lay out representative examples of the thought and theology that drove the Anabaptist and Radical Reformation movements during the Early Reformation period. Among other figures, Andreas Carlstadt, Thomas Muntzer, Jan Mathys, Jan Van Leiden and Menno Simons will be covered as well as the Peasant’s Revolt and the Siege of Muenster. Both historical and theological considerations will be covered, as well as connections to current trends and denominations.

Dr. Timothy Dost

Associate Professor of Historical Theology, Concordia Seminary, St. Louis

Dr. Timothy Dost is a living, walking “wikipedia” when it comes to Luther and the Reformation. Dost combines an incisive analysis of 16th-century theology with acute observations of what it means for the church today. And best of all, he does this with a pastor’s heart.
