Concordia Seminary, St. Louis is encouraging its friends and followers to “Support Your Sem … for Generations to Come” during the annual Giving Tuesday charitable day of giving Dec. 1.
Gifts to the fund are used to sustain and grow scholarships for students; retain and help build the Seminary’s world-class faculty; and provide for campus-specific needs.
“It is our unique privilege as Christians to give joyously of what God has first given us,” said Vicki Biggs, senior vice president for Seminary Advancement. “On this special day devoted to supporting the many worthy charitable ministries that abound across the globe, we are especially grateful to those who will remember Concordia Seminary. A gift to the Seminary will make a difference for future students as we go about our mission of preparing faithful, Gospel-centered pastors, deaconesses and missionaries who will serve the church and its people for generations to come. Thank you to all who make a gift not just on Giving Tuesday, but all the other days of the year, too.”
Now in its fourth year, Giving Tuesday is a national day of giving that focuses on philanthropy instead of the consumerism of the post-Thanksgiving season that includes Black Friday, Small Business Saturday and Cyber Monday. More than 30,000 organizations will harness the power of social media to spread their messages of giving this Giving Tuesday.
