About the carillonneur:
Elien Van den Broeck (b. 2003) began her carillon studies at the age of nine in Peer, Belgium, with Erik Vandevoort. At a young age, she won two international carillon competitions (Deinze and St. Amand-les-Eaux), and in her home municipality of Meerhout, Belgium, she received the municipal culture prize for her carillon achievements. Additionally, she is a two-time Belgium champion in karate.
In 2018, at the age of 14, Elien was appointed carillonneur of the abbey carillon in Mol-Postel. In 2020, she graduated from the Royal Carillon School in Mechelen, as the youngest carillonneur ever and has since performed concerts worldwide.
