Rev. David Peter Accepts Call to Concordia Seminary

Concordia Seminary is pleased to announce that Rev. David Peter has accepted the call extended to him to serve as Director of the Doctor of Ministry Program, Placement Counselor and Assistant Professor of Practical Theology. Rev. Peter comes to Concordia Seminary from Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Peoria, Ill., where he is serving as Senior Pastor.

Rev. Peter received his B.A. degree with highest distinction from the University of Nebraska in 1982 and was a national Rhodes Scholar finalist. Following a year of graduate study at the University of Chicago, he received his M.Div. from Concordia Seminary in 1987. Following Seminary graduation, he served as Visiting Instructor of Theology at Concordia College, Seward, 1987-88. He joined the pastoral staff of Trinity, Peoria in 1988 as Associate Pastor and became Senior Pastor in 1995. He has completed all requirements for the Doctor of Ministry degree from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School and will receive the degree at its winter commencement.

Rev. Peter will join the Concordia Seminary community in late October.
