Concordia Seminary to Hold Special Reformation Service

Concordia Seminary, St. Louis, is pleased to offer a special worship service in observance of the Reformation at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 26, in the Seminary’s Chapel of St. Timothy and St. Titus. The public is invited to attend.

The Reverend Dr. Joel P. Okamoto, assistant professor of systematic theology, will be the preacher. Hymns and choral offerings emphasizing the major themes of the Reformation will be included.

As part of the prelude, the choirs of the Seminary will present music from the Lutheran heritage and also from more recent times. The prelude will begin at 3:45 p.m.

“The Reformation accents, ‘grace alone, faith alone and Scripture alone,’ are blessings that have flowed from God to the church,” said Dr. James Brauer, professor of practical theology and dean of the chapel at Concordia Seminary. “We are pleased to offer this service of Word, song and prayer that celebrates these gifts to the greater St. Louis community.”
