Concordia Seminary Announces Lay Bible Institute

Concordia Seminary, St. Louis, will host its winter Lay Bible Institute from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday evenings, Jan. 21 and 28 and Feb. 4 and 18, 2004, in Sieck Hall on the Seminary campus. The class, “Talk About God!: How to Read the Psalms for All They Are Worth,” will be presented by Dr. Timothy E. Saleska, associate professor of exegetical theology at Concordia Seminary. Participants will discover the relevance of the psalms for their devotional and faith life.

Saleska has served on the Seminary faculty since 1997. Prior to that, he served as associate pastor of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Napoleon, Ohio (1995-1997) and as pastor of Peace Lutheran Church in Cincinnati, Ohio (1982-1995). He received the Ph.D. degree (1999) and the master of philosophy degree (1991) from Hebrew Union College, Cincinnati, Ohio; the M.Div. degree from Concordia Seminary, St. Louis, Mo., in 1982; and a B.A. degree from Concordia College, Ann Arbor, Mich., in 1978.
