Standing Room Only for Arianna Debut at Concordia Seminary

Over 235 people filled Wartburg Hall, on the campus of Concordia Seminary, St. Louis, on Feb. 5, 2006, to hear the Arianna String Quartet. The quartet performed Solo Chamber Music by J. S. Bach as part of the Bach at the Sem 2005-2006 season.

Members of the Arianna String Quartet, the Quartet-in-Residence at the University of Missouri, St. Louis, include John McGrosso and David Gillham, violin; Robert Meyer, viola; and Kurt Baldwin, cello.

“The spontaneous standing ovation by the audience indicated the warm reception of this great music,” commented Robert Bergt, music director and conductor of The American Kantorei.

The Arianna String Quartet will perform Franz Joseph Hayden’s The Seven Last Words of our Savior on the Cross on Sunday, April 9, at 3:00 p.m. in Wartburg Hall on the campus of Concordia Seminary. Following the performance, Robert Bergt will present brief meditations on the Seven Words.
