Concordia Seminary, St. Louis, is pleased to offer a special worship service in observance of the Reformation at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 26, in The Chapel of St. Timothy and St. Titus on the Seminary campus. The public is invited to attend.

Rev. Dr. Erik Herrmann, assistant professor of historical theology, will serve as preacher. Hymns and choral offerings emphasizing the major themes of the Reformation will be included.

Preservice music will include Hans Leo Hassler’s “Lord, Let at Last Thine Angels Come,” which is arranged for two choirs. Also included in the preservice music is Rupert Lang’s “The Kontakion,” which highlights the theme of All Saints’ Day. Part of the Reformation service itself will be Martin Luther’s setting of the “Te Deum.”

“The Reformation’s clear expression of the Gospel was a great transforming force in the church and remains a worthy cause for thanksgiving and celebration,” commented Dr. James Brauer, dean of the chapel at Concordia Seminary. “We are pleased to invite the St. Louis community to rejoice in word and song over our salvation through Jesus Christ and to pray with us that the message reach everyone on this earth.”
