Concordia Seminary Announces Summer Lay Bible Institute

Concordia Seminary, St. Louis, will host a summer Lay Bible Institute on Saturday, August 22, from 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. in Sieck Hall on the Seminary campus. “The Book of Revelation and the End Times” will be presented by Dr. Louis Brighton, professor emeritus at Concordia Seminary.

The Book of Revelation is the last message from the Lord Christ to His church until He comes at the End. The purpose of Revelation is to point us to the End by inspiring us through our faith in the exalted Lord Christ so as to look to the glory that awaits us, and to motivate us to carry out and complete the mission and work that He has given to us. Revelation has two foci or subject matters: Christology and Missiology. In Revelation eschatology is the historical time frame in which these two great topics are presented. The historical reference of this eschatological period extends from Christ’s ascension until the second coming of the Son of Man at the End.

To register for the Lay Bible Institute, please call Continuing Education and Parish Services at 314-505-7486 between 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, or e-mail [email protected]. The cost is $20 per person and includes all handouts and refreshments. Lunch is not provided; participants may bring bag lunches or eat off campus. Concordia Seminary is located at 801 Seminary Place, in Clayton, Mo.
