Staff and Faculty Installed in New Positions

Two staff members and one faculty member were installed into new positions during morning chapel on Wednesday, Nov. 13.

Dr. Andrew Bartelt, professor of exegetical theology, was installed as the initial holder of The Gustav and Sophie Butterbach Chair in Exegetical Theology. This chair supports excellence in scholarship and teaching of the Old Testament. Dr. Bartelt is the author of Fundamental Biblical Hebrew and The Book Around Immanuel.

Rev. Wayne Knolhoff, director of placement, was installed as director of The Center for Stewardship. He will develop stewardship resources and work with students, pastors, and congregations to understand the importance of stewardship in personal and congregational practice.

Dr. Gillian Bond  was installed as director of deaconess studies and administrative assistant for the Specific Ministry Pastor (SMP) program and Ethnic Immigrant Institute of Theology (EIIT) program. Most recently, Dr. Bond served as a deaconess at Mount Calvary Lutheran in Peoria, Ill. She concurrently served as chaplain Lutheran Hillside Village. She received her bachelor of science and master of science degrees in materials science from Imperial College, London University. She received her Ph.D. in materials science from the University of Bath, England. She received the master of arts degree and certification for deaconess service from Concordia Theological Seminary, Fort Wayne, Ind.
