A special Prof ’n Stein was held Jan. 10 to welcome the 67 Specific Ministry Pastor (SMP) students who were on campus the week of Jan. 9-13, 2017, for their intensives. We also welcomed Ph.D. and deaconess students back to campus for their intensives and internship seminars that week.

Dr. Andrew Bartelt, the outgoing SMP director and the Gustav and Sophie Butterbach Professor of Exegetical Theology, spoke to the packed house and reminded them to “remember the past and to carry it forward to the future.”

Bartelt said Prof ’n Stein gives SMP students, who are living in ministry every day, a chance to delve into theology and the opportunity to enjoy camaraderie with the full-time Seminary students on campus.

Dr. W. Mart Thompson was welcomed as the new SMP director.
