‘The Gospel in Seven Words’ is focus of Pre-Lenten Workshop

Workshop for pastors set for Jan. 19

Lent is all about the Gospel – and the Gospel forms the central theme of Concordia Seminary’s Pre-Lenten Workshop “The Gospel in Seven Words” for pastors from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Friday, Jan. 19, 2018.

The Pre-Lenten Workshop is hosted by Dr. Peter Nafzger, assistant professor of Practical Theology.

1 Peter 3:15 provides the biblical orientation for this series, as it calls all Christians to be prepared to give the reason for their hope in Christ.

The one-day event will explore the ways in which the Scriptures proclaim the Good News of Jesus Christ. Participants in the workshop will consider how they might confess the Gospel concretely and creatively, and how they can equip their members to do the same. In addition to offering a traditional series of midweek sermons, this workshop will include an interactive (dialogical) option designed to help pastors work with their congregation members to form a brief confession of the Gospel using their own words.

The Pre-Lenten Workshop will be held in the Presidents Room on the Concordia Seminary campus. Registration is $50 and includes lunch. For a link to the registration page, click here.
