Giving Tuesday campaign benefits student aid

Concordia Seminary, St. Louis friends and supporters are invited to help prepare pastors, deaconesses, missionaries and other church workers through online gifts on the international day of philanthropy known as Giving Tuesday, Nov. 27. Gifts donated during the Seminary’s Giving Tuesday campaign will benefit student aid.

Donors will be able to double their Giving Tuesday gifts this year thanks to a matching gift of $25,000. Gifts will be matched, dollar for dollar up to $25,000.

“The global Giving Tuesday movement offers people the world over a special opportunity to demonstrate their support for the missions dearest to their hearts,” said Vicki Biggs, senior vice president of Seminary Advancement. “We are grateful to our friends and supporters who partner with the Seminary on Giving Tuesday and every other day of the year to benefit our students and for the sake of the Gospel. Their gifts have eternal significance.”

Since its inaugural year in 2012, Giving Tuesday continues to celebrate and support philanthropy. In 2017, donors gave more than $274 million to thousands of organizations and charities worldwide, including more than $21,000 to the Seminary, surpassing the institution’s $20,000 goal.

This year, donors are encouraged to share their experience using social sharing tools found on the Seminary’s Giving Tuesday page here. Supporters are encouraged to use #PrepareAPastor, #PrepareADeaconess and #GivingTuesday on social media to spread the word about the campaign.

To make a gift, text the amount of your gift to 314-207-3998 and follow the steps to make a secure donation, or visit the Seminary’s Giving Tuesday page here to make an online gift.

“The students here at the Seminary are very excited about Giving Tuesday, as they know that the gifts given on behalf of the campaign will benefit their lives and the lives of future generations of students,” said Benjamin Marriott, manager of mid-level giving and Giving Tuesday campaign manager. “We give thanks for the partners who, to the glory of God, support our students.”
