Sem student new WELS seminary president

Congratulations to Ph.D. student Rev. Earle Treptow who became the new president of the Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary in Mequon, Wis., a seminary of the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod (WELS), July 1! He succeeded President Rev. Paul Wendland, who stepped down and returned to his role of full-time classroom professor. Treptow is in his third and final year of course work to complete his doctorate at Concordia Seminary, St. Louis.

Before joining the Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary in 2016 as a faculty member, Treptow served as a pastoral recruiter at Martin Luther College, as a pastor in British Columbia and Denver, Colo., and as president of the WELS Nebraska District.
