Seminary hosts St. Baldrick’s Foundation head-shaving fundraiser

Faculty, staff, students to shed hair for cancer research

Who: Concordia Seminary, St. Louis students, faculty and staff will voluntarily shave their heads during the St. Baldrick’s Foundation head-shaving fundraiser. Participants have grown their hair for months in anticipation of this event.

What: For the ninth time, Concordia Seminary will “brave a shave” and participate in the St. Baldrick’s Foundation head-shaving fundraiser. This year’s goal is to raise $10,000 to help fund research to find a cure for childhood cancers.

When: 4-7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 6, 2020

Where: Pederson Field House, Concordia Seminary, 801 Seminary Place, Clayton, Mo.

More information: Since partnering with St. Baldrick’s in 2012, Concordia Seminary has raised more than $76,500 for the foundation, thanks to the volunteers who forego their hair in support of this worthwhile cause.

St. Baldrick’s head-shaving events give “shavees” a way to show their support by voluntarily shaving their heads in an effort to inspire friends and family to donate funds for childhood cancer research. Stylists from Great Clips in Afton, Mo., will shave heads on-site for their ninth year as well.
