Faith and Writing Workshop set for July 19-21

Registration now open

Aspiring and experienced writers are invited to expand their skills during the annual Faith and Writing Workshop, slated for July 19-21, 2022, at Concordia Seminary, St. Louis.

Participants will explore the role of faith in the creative process and discover ways to cultivate creativity in their lives. They also will learn about traditional and modern forms of creative writing, including blogs, devotionals, poetry, drama and nonfiction. Special attention will be given to social media and new forms of expression. Participants will have ample time to practice and share their work.

The workshop will be led by Dr. Travis Scholl, chief mission officer for Lutheran Senior Services and a Christian editor and writer; and Peter Mead, a Christian editor, publisher and writer.

“Even though writing is something we can do remotely, in our own homes, after a two-year hiatus, Peter and I are beyond excited to host the Faith and Writing Workshop in-person once again,” Scholl said. “There is nothing like the energy of being together to fuel creativity and growth.”

The cost of the workshop is $175 per person ($75 for Concordia Seminary students) with a maximum of 15 participants. Meals are not included. The registration deadline is July 11.
