Giving Tuesday campaign sets all-time record

Donors raise $137k in support of Seminary’s mission

Giving Tuesday 2023

A record-breaking $137,707 raised from 357 generous donors Nov. 28 surpassed Concordia Seminary’s Giving Tuesday goal of $100,000 by nearly 38% and exceeded all of the Seminary’s previous giving day tallies. Thanks to a special matching opportunity, gifts were doubled dollar-for-dollar up to the first $50,000 raised.

Every gift received will be used where needed most in the Seminary’s ongoing mission to prepare the church’s future pastors, deaconesses, missionaries and other church leaders.

“Thank you to each and every donor who contributed to our Giving Tuesday campaign,” said Vicki Biggs, senior vice president of Seminary Advancement and chief communications officer. “Not just during special campaigns such as this, but every day throughout the year, the Seminary’s friends and supporters demonstrate their abiding love for our students and the mission of this institution through their ongoing generous support. Glory be to God, who makes all things possible, and thank you again to our friends for their support.”

The Seminary’s Giving Tuesday campaign encouraged students, faculty, staff and donors to spread the word by sharing the giving page and using hashtags #PrepareAPastor, #PrepareADeaconess and #GivingTuesday on social media. Supporters also were encouraged to create their own matching gift or challenge and to share it among their friends, families, churches and alumni classes.

For those who still wish to give to the Seminary during this holiday season, including a year-end gift, call 800-822-5287, write to [email protected] or visit csl.edu/give.

The next Giving Tuesday is set for Dec. 3, 2024. Learn more about the Seminary’s three annual giving days at csl.edu/giving-days.
