Convocation Available on Seminary Web Site

The Concordia Seminary, St. Louis community gathered for a convocation on Wednesday, Feb. 6 to hear a panel discussion which dealt with the issues, “What is syncretism?”, “What is unionism?”, and “What should pastors consider as they decide whether or not to participate in a variety of public events?”. The Seminary panel which discussed these issues was comprised of President John F. Johnson and Professors Richard H. Warneck, Jeffrey A. Gibbs and Ronald R. Feuerhahn.

The convocation was recorded and is available on the Seminary’s Web site (www.csl.edu) in RealAudio® format for download or online listening.

“Wednesday convocations are a regular occurrence on our campus and this one produced an audience that overflowed the room,” commented Rev. Glen D. Thomas, vice president for seminary relations at Concordia Seminary. “The convocation addressed the theological issues to be considered when pastors are contemplating participation in public events. It did not render opinions and statements regarding specific disputes now being adjudicated. I think it will be extremely helpful for all who listen to it.”
