This week, we were also joined on campus by our reduced residency Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) and Master of Sacred Theology (S.T.M.) students! Throughout the last semester, these distance students had been participating in course work preparing for their intensives here on campus. Seventeen students in the Specific Ministry Pastor

Seventeen students in the Specific Ministry Pastor (SMP) Program at Concordia Seminary, St. Louis were recognized for their first calls to ministry Friday, Jan. 14, in the Chapel of St. Timothy and Titus.

The SMP Program is a four-year state of the art distance education program that prepares men for specific pastoral ministries in The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod (LCMS). He shared with them about the state of the program, and they also had an opportunity to share with him about their experiences as students.

Friends: We have made the difficult decision to cancel the 2022 Faith and Film Festival, which had been set for Jan. 27-29. We canceled the third annual event owing to low registration numbers, likely due to the pandemic. Our sincere apologies. We are now in the process of refunding all registrations.

Our plan is to move forward with next year’s festival as an in-person event Jan. 26-28, 2023. We hope you can join us!

In the meantime, we will be posting the winning short films from this year’s first-ever contest to the Concordia Theology website (https://concordiatheology.org/) along with some interpretive dialogue about why the judges chose these films as the best representation of the theme of hope.
