Concordia Seminary Celebrates “Retirement of Debt” With Ceremony
On October 1, 2010, Concordia Seminary became debt-free for the first time since 1987. President Meyer comments on the momenteous event, “God is blessing His seminary.” Dr. Kent Burreson, dean of the Chapel of St. Timothy and St. Titus, ceremoniously burned the mortgage on the chapel plaza. As he burned the pages, those assembled sang the Common Doxology and prayed, thanking God for this retirement of debt.
