Third annual Give Green and Gold Day set for Sept. 27

Matching gift doubles impact up to first $10k raised

Preparing pastors, deaconesses and other church leaders who are faithful to the Scriptures and the Lutheran Confessions is central to the mission of Concordia Seminary, St. Louis. It is this very mission that is the focus of the Seminary’s third annual Give Green and Gold Day.

Thanks to a matching gift, donors will be able to double their Give Green and Gold Day gifts dollar for dollar up to the first $10,000 raised. All funds raised through this special effort will be used to where needed most as the Seminary carries out its mission of forming future pastors and deaconesses.

“Every gift, from the smallest to the greatest, makes a difference as we strive to ensure that our congregations and ministries across the country and around the world have the shepherds to lead them in their faithful work,” said Vicki Biggs, senior vice president of Seminary Advancement and chief communications officer. “We give thanks for our donors who will generously respond to this special opportunity to double the impact of their gifts on Give Green and Gold Day – what a joy it is to partner with them in the Seminary’s mission.”

Seminary friends also are invited to encourage others in their support for the Seminary’s Give Green and Gold Day by spreading the word on social media using the hashtag #GiveGreenandGold, by sharing our giving page grouprev.com/givegreenandgold2021 or by calling 800-822-5287.

“With the success of the previous Give Green and Gold Days, we know that our donors, new or returning, will make this year’s campaign even greater,” said Megan Duncan, manager of annual giving and Give Green and Gold Day campaign manager. “Gifts of all sizes that support the mission of Concordia Seminary are greater than gold — they are blessings!”
