Concordia Seminary to host First Responders Appreciation Day

Police, firefighters, EMTs to be honored

Concordia Seminary, St. Louis will honor first responders at a special chapel service at 9:35 a.m. Friday, Sept. 29, in the Chapel of St. Timothy and St. Titus on the Seminary campus. Local police officers, firefighters and emergency medical technicians (EMTs) are invited to attend. A reception will follow the service on Chapel Plaza.

“To all first responders, thank you!” said Seminary President Dr. Dale A. Meyer. “We often see you going to help people unseen by us, but when you come to where we live, then we realize we cannot thank you enough. Please accept our gratitude.”

Rev. Kyle Castens, pastor of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Festus, Mo., and chaplain of the Festus Fire Department, will preach. Clayton, Mo., Mayor Harold Sanger will attend and address the congregation. The Erin Bode Group will provide special music.
