Alumni Reunion

Our annual Alumni Reunions provide an opportunity for alumni, spouses and widows time to reconnect, reminisce and celebrate. It also offers time for alumni to reacquaint themselves with the beautiful Concordia Seminary campus and the global ministry taking place here.

2019 Alumni Reunion

Oct. 24-25, 2019

A special welcome is extended to members of the jubilarian class of 1969 and graduates, spouses and widows of class years ending in "9" or "4."

Reunion highlights

  • Special recognition of jubilarian class and all alumni in chapel
  • A presentation by Dr. Thomas Zelt, pastor of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, Fremont, Calif.
  • Banquet featuring a Gospel of Mark presentation by Dr. Michael Zeigler, speaker of The Lutheran Hour

Hear from the dynamic duo at the helm of Concordia Seminary, St. Louis. Dr. Meyer will share an insider's view of the strategic issues and plans for the Seminary. The first lady will address how the campus engages with the broader community, resulting in enhanced relationships and goodwill among our neighbors. Questions from the audience will be welcome!
Noon-1 p.m. Lunch
1-4 p.m. Free time/class gatherings
4-6 p.m. Alum 'n Stein
Mingle with Seminary students during this social time featuring complimentary libations and stimulating conversations. The students will welcome wisdom and insight from their alumni brothers and sisters in the field.

10:30-11:30 a.m. Presentation: "Experiencing the Holy Land as a Sem Student" with Dr. Thomas Zelt
Pastor, Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, Fremont, Calif.
Guest Instructor, Concordia Seminary, St. Louis
Through the Seminary's course, "Exegesis and Teaching from the Biblical Context: An Immersion Experience," students have the unique opportunity to travel to Israel and gain a deeper understanding of biblical settings and the ability to apply the settings to exegesis. A former student described the experience as one of the most significant in his pastoral formation. Come hear more about this unique class and Zelt's perspective that "God put a pin in place and time."

Class gatherings

We encourage you to connect with your classmates beforehand and suggest to them that they join you to celebrate the many years of blessings God has given to you and His church. We will be happy to assist you with arrangements for individual class gatherings.

Free time

Free time activities may include: hymn sing, organ play, choir performance, library tour, devotions, classroom visits.

$125 per person for two days or $70 per person for one day.

A limited number of rooms are available at the Cheshire Hotel with a special group rate of $117/per night. Please make your reservations by Saturday, Sept. 21, 2019, to receive the group rate.
